The Impact Vine created by the non-profit organizationThe Community Fund of Darien, is a secure online fundraising service available to qualifying nonprofits, and created to connect donors with the real and immediate needs of non-profit organizations in the community.
Donations made on The Impact Vine are tax-deductible and go directly to nonprofits, less a 2.9% payment processing fee and 30 cents per donation. We do not charge any site or service fees, however, and, as a nonprofit ourselves, we do encourage supporting The Impact Vine to help provide the critical funding we need to operate our site, through the voluntary donation you can make at check out, thank you!

Do I need to register for an account on The Impact Vine to make a donation?
Yes. Donors are required use the Sign Up Now feature to create an account to donate through The Impact Vine. The account will ensure the donor receives proper communication regarding their gift (IRS tax-receipt, thank you note, and more) as well as receiving updates on the campaign’s progress. Once an account is established, donors may easily log-in to make future gifts and their information will be on file. There is also a Forgot Password feature if donors forget their log-in information.
What if I want to my donation to remain anonymous?
We greatly respect a donors intent and there are two levels of anonymity available on The Impact Vine:
- Complete anonymity: This profile feature is available to donors who want their name, contact information, and entire donor history to be anonymous for every The Impact Vine transaction.
- Individual gift anonymity: This feature allows donors to make specific gifts anonymously. This feature is selected on the donation check-out screen and will prevent the donor’s name and contact information from being shared with the nonprofit organization.
May I use my donor advised fund to make charitable gifts on Crowdfunding Platform?
Yes. Please contact The Impact Vine at firstname.lastname@example.org to make the necessary arrangements.
What happens if a project I donate to does not reach its goal within 45 days?
All donations made through The Impact Vine are considered completed charitable donations and are not refundable. Once a Project has reached its funding goal or the project timetable has ended, The Impact Vine will issue payment to the nonprofit via ACH transfer to the nonprofit’s bank on record.
Projects which don’t raise 100% on The Impact Vine will receive the remainder of their funding from the participating nonprofit which posted the project, thereby guaranteeing that the project will happen!
To encourage successful campaigns, The Impact Vine has built-in social media sharing buttons and may issue promotional e-mails, such as an announcement to previous organization donors when a new campaign goes live, a notice when the campaign is 80 percent funded, and a notice when the campaign is five days away from expiring, etc.
Where do projects come from?
We work with qualified local nonprofit agencies who are working within our community to solve local problems. They decide on their areas of most immediate need and develop projects accordingly, which they then upload to our web site.
How is the Community Fund of Darien and The Impact Vine affiliated with nonprofit organizations?
The Community Fund of Darien is an established nonprofit agency which has been in operation for more than 65 years. The Impact Vine is an initiative developed by the Community Fund of Darien and our funding partners to help nonprofits raise funds and engage directly with donors.
We realize that the way the community wants to help solve social problems has changed during the past few years. And, we realize there is an opportunity to assist local nonprofits with fundraising and donor engagement through technology.
We developed The Impact Vine in order to help connect donors with nonprofit organizations and the projects they care about.

Will I receive tax documentation for my donation?
Yes! Immediately upon confirming your donation you will receive, via email, a receipt for your gift, which may be used for tax deductions. In addition, each partner nonprofit that you choose to give to will be acknowledging your gift, as well, and will provide you with updates.
