Arts & Culture

The Mather Homestead Foundation is dedicated to the preservation of the Mather Homestead in Darien, Connecticut as a treasured historical place for education and enjoyment. The Homestead was built in 1778 by Deacon Joseph Mather and has been preserved over seven generations. The Homestead has a rich history dating back to the Revolutionary War and because even more significant as the home of Stephen Tyng Mather, an important conservationist and founder of our National Park Service.
