Donated towards $5000.00 Goal
January 28, 2017
Last year, our School-based Health Centers (SBHCs) provided more than 1,400 Stamford Public School students with necessary medical, dental and mental health services. And while we offered nearly 500 dental visits to children in need, we can do so much more.
Basic health and dental care are important through everyone’s life, but are extra critical as children grow and develop. For many low income and uninsured families, access to quality preventative services for their children is unattainable. Family Centers not only provides these services, it does so on-site in public schools to ensure the children, adolescents and teens have a direct link to the care they need.
Located in five middle and high schools in Stamford, these School Based Health Centers (SBHC) provide many services, including dental care, to 4,200 students each year. Nearly 60% of the students who accessed these services came from low-income and/or uninsured families.
We need your help! We’re thrilled that we’ve been able to expand our services to even more children in schools throughout Stamford, but the funding was not enough to include dental equipment.
This crowdfunding campaign will raise $5,000 to purchase one dental chair with rinsing station, lighting and other dental supplies, and will provide dental healthcare to hundreds of children who would otherwise not receive it. Please help us raise these funds and put a smile on a deserving student!
