$645 would allow us to have the most amazing afternoons over a few months with 2nd and 3rd graders experimenting with SLIME.   We have some great pictures from the first time we did this but it is expensive and we need some help to do it on a regular basis!  http://kidshelpingkidsct.org/fun-science-042017/

The Story: “My name is Sarah and I am in 6th grade, and I love experimenting!  We will use the scientific method to make an educated guess, form a hypothesis, plan our experiment and then test the hypothesis in our lab!  I have enjoyed doing lots of homemade science crafts for a while. I want to continue doing this fun science project called SLIME because I want to have other kids be able to enjoy this activity as much as I do!”

I led my first project in April and the kids at the Boys and Girls Club, Yerwood Unit loved it! They kept asking us if we would come again the next day. Typically, we meet with three groups of students, with approximately 20 students in a group and I would love to run more but the supplies get expensive so I am hoping you can help!

I need to buy the following to make the best project ever:

Elmer’s School Glue, 7 bottles, 1 gallon each, $140
Saline Solution, 20 bottles, 12 fl oz., $60
Plastic gallon bags, 200, $56
Shaving cream, 20 cans, $40
Disposable Tablecloth, 12 , $15
Paper Towels Rolls, 12, $20
Food Coloring, 32 bottles, $32
Wooden Stirrers, 1 box of 500, $4
Plastic Cups (for mixing ingredients), 4 packs, $36
Sharpies (so children can label their bags) 2 packs of 10 markers,$20
Name Tags, 200, $12

Refurbished iPad (to play music creating a happy upbeat atmosphere), $210
Total $645.00

Fun with Science with 200 kids would be less than $3.25 per student!  How good is that?  A total of $645.00 would help us make this project happen more than just this once and really get to know the kids we are working with!

Cost to introduce more than 200 2nd and 3rd grade students to science by making slime: $645
