Jeffrey is a 58 year-old man who was diagnosed with advanced multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. The treatment he receives to keep his cancer in check has begun to take a toll on him. An athlete and an avid golfer, Jeffrey is having difficulty adjusting to feeling so fatigued and weak.
Unable to work, he and his wife cannot survive on her income alone. Ann’s Place has already helped this couple with financial assistance but increasingly, Jeffrey is feeling depressed. He admitted that he is irritable with his wife and impatient with himself. Both he and his wife are asking for counseling to cope with this crisis.
With your help, Jeffrey and his wife can meet jointly a few times with an Ann’s Place counselor to help them express their feelings and bring their anxiety levels down.
Jeffrey and his wife are interested in holistic approaches improving health and living well. They both can attend classes at Ann’s Place on nutrition and healthy eating.
It will cost $500 to offer the following services to Jeffrey and his wife for 4 months:
- Weekly couple counseling for a month and then once a month for a year as needed
- Nutrition classes
- Full access to unlimited wellness programs such as yoga, art, horticulture therapy, Tai Chi and more when they need it
- Access to social activities at Ann’s Place such as concerts and healthy pot luck meals
- Attend 1-3 speaker series programs
Cost to provide counseling and wellness services for four months while Jeffrey undergoes treatment for multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer: $500
