About Building One Community – Building One Community (formerly Neighbors Link Stamford) brings passionate people together to help immigrants and their families succeed. Together with our network of partners and supporters, we strive to build one community in which all immigrants are active, contributing members. We do this by providing English language instruction, job skills training, personal support services, and more.
About INTAKE Music Organization – INTAKE is a music-education and youth-development organization whose mission is to make music education accessible, relevant, and inclusive, enabling its students, all of whom come from disenfranchised communities, to leverage the skills they gain through engaging in the arts to improve their educational, social, and personal outcomes. Using bilingual music instruction on classical (violin, viola, guitar) instruments as well as cross-cultural repertoire and instrumentation (charango, bilingual choir), INTAKE’s programs employ a unique and innovative multidimensional approach that links the study of music to broader educational improvement and socio-emotional development. We are committed to using music as an instrument of improving the quality of life for our local communities and families, while at the same time creating a culturally responsive environment that supports the inclusion and participation of a broad swathe of people, reflecting the true composition of our community.
Cost to create a Grand Community Choir for local residents who wish to participate and learn more about choirs and performance: $1,850.
