Donated towards $5000.00 Goal
38 Days to go
We are raising funds to create a design for a new Amur tiger habitat. A new tiger habitat has been a dream of Zoo staff for some time and we would like to fund the process of bringing in an architect and laying the groundwork to make this a reality.
The goal is to increase indoor and outdoor space, allowing for more enrichment opportunities, adding additional viewing spaces and additional educational space that may include presentation opportunities, photo ops and educational signage. Once known as the Siberian tiger, the Amur tigers are the largest cat species in the world.
Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo is proud to be able to work with these critically endangered species. A new habitat will allow us to continue our work and will enrich the lives of these majestic creatures.
And we are thrilled with the birth of two cubs seven weeks ago!!
We are fundraising to:
- Create an exhibit concept
- Research the animal’s natural environment
- Collaborate with curators, keepers, zoo educators, and veterinarians
- Accommodate the needs of both animals and visitors
- Provide us with exhibit architect renderings and construction documents
Our goal is to raise $5,000 and begin the planning process.
Please consider making a gift today. And please tell your friends and family why you choose to support the Zoo and ask them to join you.
